About

Established in July 2022, Yidi Art is a Hong Kong-based gallery dedicated to promoting contemporary art by both emerging and established artists from around the globe, spanning various disciplines. Our mission is to foster artistic dialogue and explore the limitless potential of art. We support artists whose diverse practices engage with complex aesthetics and visual culture, nurturing creativity and connecting cultures while sharing the joy of art.

Since our launch, we have collaborated with a wide array of multidisciplinary artists and hosted over 20 exhibitions. Notable artists include Chinese artist Cheng Zhe, renowned Hong Kong artists Frog King and Charlotte Moving Drawing, Czech artist Markéta Kolářová, French artist Silvio Mildo, Romanian artist Padure, Chinese artist Nhozagri, Filipino artist CHN0, Indonesian artist Heru Priyono, Japanese artists 22nd Century Jedi, Keiko Aikawa, and Yuka Umino, as well as Thai artist Ani. Each artist has contributed unique perspectives and creative approaches, enriching the artistic dialogue we strive to promote.

Our notable showcases include the debut exhibition Simple Gifts in July 2022, featuring the exceptional works of Cheng Zhe. His oeuvre radiated joy and hope, embodying the resilience of the human spirit during the pandemic. Cheng Zhe's subsequent solo exhibitions, One Flower, One World in March 2023 and Tomorrow’s Promises in February 2024, further solidified our commitment to nurturing long-term relationships with artists.

In May 2023, we had the honor of hosting a remarkable exhibition showcasing the innovative works of renowned Hong Kong artist Frog King, whose captivating pieces have established him as an influential figure in the contemporary art scene. Additionally, Yidi Art participated in Art Central Hong Kong in March 2024, featuring Silvio Mildo’s work to reach a broader audience and enhance our recognition. We also organized artist-sharing sessions and art conferences, including a discussion with Markéta Kolářová during our April exhibition and an academic conference at Art Dialogue at the M+ Museum in collaboration with The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong during Hong Kong Art Week 2024. Our public programming also includes tours in partnership with the Women in Publishing Society, reflecting our commitment to transforming the gallery into an inclusive space.

As we move forward, Yidi Art remains steadfast in its pursuit of artistic dialogue and contemporary aesthetics, cultivating an inclusive environment for artists and art enthusiasts alike.
